Zachary Allen Pruss

Zachary Allen Pruss, of Lake St. Louis, MO, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 18. Beloved son of Johanna and Jason Pruss; dear brother of Elle Pruss; cherished nephew of Aaron Pruss, Sherri (Todd) Giguere, Amanda Freeman, Michael Frey, and Tony Frey; treasured grandson of Greg and Elaine Frey. Zachary is preceded in death by his aunt, Laura Carlson, his cousin, Tristen Carlson, and his grandmother, Linda Pruss.

Zach graduated summa cum laude from Liberty High School with the Class of 2026 and was preparing to begin the next chapter of his life at the University of Missouri this fall.

A gifted athlete, Zach was a founding member of the Liberty High School hockey team and proudly played for the Car Shield Hockey Club. While he was known for his talent on the ice, those who knew him best remember him for something even greater—his kind heart, welcoming spirit, and unwavering support for his teammates and friends. He had a way of making everyone feel included and left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Across the St. Louis area, friends, teammates, and families are honoring Zach by placing hockey sticks outside their homes and sharing photos with the hashtags #SticksOutForZach

Zachary was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
