William "Bill" Sugar

William “Bill” Sugar, of The Villages, Florida, passed away surrounded by loved ones Monday, April 14th, 2025 at the age of 60. Devoted father of Branden (Jordan), Brett (Caitlyn) and Ben Sugar; former husband of Jill Sugar, mother of his children; loving grandfather of Bailey, Faye, Nella, Riley and Kallie Sugar; cherished son of the late Johnny Sugar and Margaret (Sugar) Graziano, his adopted parents, as well as Jim (Jeanne) Toothman, his biological father; beloved brother to Angie (Lonnie) Spencer and the late Vicki Sugar and Randy (Louann) Sugar; son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, nephew, cousin and dear friend to many.

A native Missourian, Bill spent the last three years living in Florida, soaking up the sun during his daily walks, floating at the pool or playing a round of golf, always supporting the home team with his St. Louis Cardinals golf cart. He was an avid St. Louis and Mizzou sports fan, traveling whenever possible to games both near and far. His passion for sports led him to dedicate much of his life to coaching baseball, and to so many he was the mentor, friend and father figure that they could always count on. But, above all else, his “boys” and “girls” meant the world to him. Upon meeting Bill, one could tell how deeply proud he was of each and every one of them. He will forever be our angel in the outfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization that helped save Bill’s life during his fight with cancer many years ago.
