William David Schnardthorst

William “Bill” David Schnardthorst, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 77. Loving husband of the late Suzanne Brosche; beloved son of the late Harry and Edith Kathryn Schnardthorst; devoted father of David (Peggy) Schnardthorst, and Kimberly (Andrew) Jennings; step-father to Jen Barnhart and Sarah (Eric) Rogers; cherished grandfather of Katherina Schnardthorst, Brianna Schnardthorst, Michael Jennings, Elias Jennings, Avery Barnhart, Peyton Barnhart, Brady Rogers and Nolan Rogers; dear brother of Charlie (David Self) Schnardthorst; and is also survived by his former wife, Beverly Schnardthorst. Bill is also preceded in death by his brothers, James and Gene Schnardthorst.  

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy early in his career.  After leaving the Navy, Bill worked for Southwestern Bell for 27 years. He also worked at IBM where he dedicated 20 years of service before retiring.  

Bill loved his grandchildren, cars, woodworking, growing amazing roses, and family lasagna nights where he made the noodles and everything from scratch. He enjoyed autocross and working on cars.  

Bill is already missed, but he will not be forgotten. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s name to The Wounded Warrior Project. 

To celebrate Bill’s life, family and friends will be gathering at one of Bill and Susie’s favorite restaurants, The Brass Rail, 4601 Hwy K, O'Fallon, MO 63368, in the banquet room. Guests are welcome to drop in between 12:30 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024 to visit.
