William Eugene Scheffer

William E. "Gene" Scheffer, age 90, of St. Peters, Missouri, died on June 16, 2024.

Gene was born to Wilbert "Toots" and Agnes "Girlie" Scheffer on February 17, 1934 in the house at 1506 North Fifth Street, St. Charles, Missouri.

He graduated from St. Charles High School, served in the United States Army, and received a degree from Washington University. After 38 years at McDonnell Douglas, he retired in 1994. Motorcycle riding was his favorite pastime. He enjoyed travel and visited every continent and over 40 countries.

Gene is preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Jimmy Scheffer.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle; his cherished children, Craig (Blue Tapp), Kelly (Tim Smith) and Brian (Michelle Abernathy); his treasured granddaughters, Amy (Brett) Perry, Lauren (Tim) Burkemper, Melanie Scheffer, Vivian Smith, and Cora Smith; his precious great-grandchildren, Max, Stella, Miles and Oliver Perry and Tripp Burkemper; his brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
