William Michael Rueweler

William Michael Rueweler, of O Fallon, MO, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, February 23, 2026 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Rachel Rueweler; cherished son of the late William J. and Frieda C. Rueweler; devoted father of Patty (Brad Bocke) Rueweler, Kathy Rueweler, Bonnie (Dinah Johnson) Davis, William (Trish) Sousan and Cindy (the late Greg) Frazier; loving grandfather of sixteen; dear brother of Geraldine Hulling and the late Ralph Rueweler; William is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

William was a man of deep pride, strong convictions, and unwavering love for his family. He celebrated over 37 years of sobriety and was a devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous, a commitment that reflected his strength and perseverance. A proud Teamster with Local 688, he carried his union membership with honor and dedication throughout his career. He was proud of his service to the United States of America, serving in the Army for 3 years.

Above all, William was a devoted family man. He found his greatest joy in watching his children and grandchildren play sports, cheering them on with steady encouragement and pride. Each year, he created cherished memories by taking his grandchildren on special vacations, thoughtfully making each trip unique and meaningful. He never missed a chance to treat them to outings at McDonald's and Hardee's, simple traditions that became treasured moments.

William enjoyed living in Texas and loved traveling to Mexico. He had a sweet tooth, especially for chocolate cake, and an even sweeter devotion to his family. William was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in William's name to American Diabetes Association.
