William J. Murphy III, of Wildwood, MO, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Martha Anne Murphy; devoted son of the late Margaret Clarice and William J. Murphy Jr.; loving father of Bill (Kelly) Murphy and Jim (Katie) Murphy; cherished grandfather of Aspen Murphy, Kyra Murphy, Jude Murphy and step-grandfather of Colin Stephenson; dear brother of Katy (Craig) Turnbull and the late James V. (Barbara) Murphy; dear brother-in-law of Michael Harter; loving uncle and friend of many. 

Bill dedicated more than 40 years as a certified financial planner. He and his wife, Martha, were married just shy of 50 years and built a beautiful life together full of wonderful memories. He enjoyed traveling and spending time in nature. He was a talented photographer and often photographed his time outdoors. Bill was somewhat of a history buff, focusing mostly on Civil War and World War II. He loved to watch football and go fly fishing every chance he could, especially with his sons. He loved dogs and had a special pet named Bailey. Bill was incredibly giving and always donated to various charities. He had a heart of gold. He was selfless and always made everyone feel important. 

Bill was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorials may be made in William's name to Tunnel to Towers or the Gary Sinise Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
