Matcaroff, William, of St. Peters, Missouri (formerly of Granite City, IL and Anaheim, CA), died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Phyllis Matcaroff; cherished son of Manol and Evgenia Matcaroff; devoted father of William (Edith) Matcaroff Jr., Laura (Colin) Sinclair, and the late Juanita “Cookie” Alioto; dear brother of Mary (the late William) Lawson and Verka “Squirkey” (the late James) Lindner; father-in-law of Kevin Alioto; loving grandfather of William Matcaroff III, Tony (Majenta) Matcaroff, Jeffrey (Amy) Sinclair, and Summer Sinclair; treasured great-grandfather of Taylor Sinclair and Xander Matcaroff; dearest uncle of Denise (the late Gary) Foutch, Kim (Kenneth) Cravens; great-uncle of Kenneth C. Cravens and the late Robert J. Schoeber II; dear great-great uncle of Izabelle Schoeber.
Bill retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service. He proudly served his country during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam War. He was an avid golfer and loved hitting the course five days a week. Bill cherished time with his wife and going to dinner and the movies. He also enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
