William Edward Laskowitz

July 25, 1925 — January 21, 2022

William "Bill" Laskowitz of Lake St. Louis, MO, fortified with the sacraments of the Holy Catholic Church, passed away January 21, 2022 at the age of 96.  Loving husband of almost 73 years to the late Mary Lou Laskowitz (nee Taylor); devoted father of Karen (Michael) Venturella, Patricia (Lawrence) Elko, Joan (Gary) Perotti, Terry Kammermeyer, and Cathy (Bob) Heimberger  cherished grandfather of Michael (Marie) Venturella Jr., Timothy (Michele) Venturella, Nicholas (Lori) Venturella, Amy (Kevin) Hogan, Joseph Elko, Angela (Nick) Dunning, Maria (Tim Vickers) Perotti, Thomas (Lauren) Perotti, Jessica Daniels, Kayla (Jacob) Eppel, Kara (Jake) Orton, Taylor and Wil Heimberger; treasured great-grandfather of Maria Venturella, Ava and Joseph Venturella, Luke and Cole Venturella; Daniel and Nora Hogan, Clara, Brinley and Noah Dunning, Murphy Perotti, and Christian Eppel. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Crescentia Laskowitz, and his brother, Andrew Laskowitz. Dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Bill will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Bill was part of the Greatest Generation, coming of age during the Great Depression. He was a World War II veteran, proudly serving in the Merchant Marines. He was a hard worker who always tried to do the right thing. Bill was a dedicated, former member of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in Riverview Gardens, St. Barnabas the Apostle Church in O’Fallon, and most recently Immaculate Conception of Dardenne. He shared his time and many talents, helping family and friends as a handyman, volunteering at church, singing in choirs, and playing his beloved harmonica.

Bill was a proud member of I.B.E.W. Local 1 and had a long, successful career as an electrician. He retired from Anheuser Busch in 1990.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 5, 2022 at All Saints Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, and in support of Bill's wartime service and all veterans, memorial donations may be made in William’s name to the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight program.
