William George Cowley

March 20, 1953 — September 17, 2024

O'Fallon, Missouri

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle William (Bill) George Cowley. He passed away along with his wife, Gloria (Glo) Kolenc in Dardenne Prairie, MO on September 17, 2024.

On March 20, 1953, Bill was born to Frederic and Marion Cowley in Lake Odessa, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with an electrical engineering degree and from Lindenwood University with a master’s in business administration.

He was the beloved husband of Glo. He was a loving father and grandfather, spoiling his grandchildren with boxes of oreos, flashlights, and lots of gadgets. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Bill had been an involved boy scout leader, tech enthusiast, dive instructor, traveler, RV driver, ham radio operator (call sign NØWGC), and (evidently) a member of a biker gang.

Bill is survived by his son, William and daughter-in-law Emily; grandchildren Micah, Liam, and Maggie; sisters Jan (and Mark) Lachniet and Diane (and Todd) Meredith; nephews Mork, Mason, Nathan (and Cory), and Ryan; along with his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Lee Cowley; grandson Wyatt James Cowley; parents, Frederic William and Marion Alice Cowley, and brother Eugene Cowley.
