William "Dema" Boatman

October 15, 1999 — July 3, 2022

St. Charles

William “Dema” Dmitri Boatman, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the age of 22. Cherished son of Chad and Lori Boatman and Mariya Nesterova; dear brother of Aidan Koenig and sister Madalyn Boatman; great grandson of Floy Laree Huff; loving grandson of William and Deborah Boatman, Ron and the late Christine Koenig and Aleksandr and Ludmilla Nesterova; Nephew to Alexis Morrison, Jason and Misty Koenig; dear friend to many and relative to hundreds of family members in Iowa.

Dema was an energetic, funny, caring and free-spirited soul with an infectious laugh. He loved to draw, play pranks, dance and make others laugh.

Dema was a gifted Pokemon player that lived for competition. He attended hundreds of tournaments over 12 years and won multiple Regional, State, City and local tournaments. He also competed every year in the National tournament and 7 times in the invitation only Worlds tournament facing the best players from around the world.

He was a Life Scout alongside his brother Aidan and close friend Scott - both Eagle Scouts. He loved the outdoors, hiking, climbing and fishing.

He graduated from Francis Howell Central in 2018. While in high school, he played football and found a love for cooking while taking culinary classes.

Dema had a passion for writing lyrics and freestyling. He was part of a rap music group called Y.E.N. (Yung Enlighted Nation) created by himself and his close friends Eli, Lo and Tone. Together they created over 30+ songs and multiple albums.

Dema loved his dogs YEN and Yang, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his pea in the pod sister Madalyn who he adored and loved to cuddle with and was his basketball and Fortnite partner.

Dema lost his close friend and roommate Brett this past January and pushed through many other obstacles with the guidance of his “forever rock”, his father. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Dema's name to Humane Society.
