Wilfred Fonseca-Vazquez, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 61. Beloved husband of Donald Keith Roberts; cherished son of the late Ignacio Fonseca and the late Maria Vasquez
Wilfred was a proud Mizzou alumnus who earned his doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the University of Missouri. He dedicated his career to education, serving as both a professor and later Dean at the Polytechnic University Orlando Campus, where he inspired countless students through his knowledge, leadership, and commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Wilfred had a remarkable range of talents and passions. He was incredibly handy and took great pride in building beautiful pieces of furniture with his own hands. He was also a gifted stained-glass craftsman, creating works that reflected both his creativity and patience.
Wilfred had a deep love for classic Puerto Rican music, and nowhere was his joyful spirit more evident than on the dance floor. He had a special talent for Hispanic dances and was always at his happiest when sharing music, laughter, and dancing with family and friends.
Wilfred's warmth, generosity, creativity, and zest for life touched everyone who knew him. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he enriched.
Memorials may be made in Wilfred's name to Donald Roberts.
