Wayne Olendorff, born February 10, 1950, died on March 29, 2026. He was married to Karen Ann (nee Turner) for almost 52 years. He was proud of his son Chet and his accomplishments as a nurse and father. His two grandchildren were his reason for living. Hunter and Mackenzie lit up his eyes whenever they walked in the room. He had two passions in life. First, the people he loved and there were many and second was his commitment to completing the job. He worked for Schulte Construction and then for McBride and Sons for over 40 years. He put his stamp of quality work as a master trim carpenter in so many homes and buildings in our area. Growing up on the farm provided him with the ability to fix or build just about anything, he was a true craftsman. His work ethic was such a strong value in his life. This was influenced by his grandmother, Blanche Olendorff (nee Sammelmann) and his mother Lou. In addition to his wife, son and grandchildren, he is survived by his brother James (Jimmy O), his sister-in law Denise (nee Miles), his brother-in-law Raymond Malon, his sister-in law, Colleen Toczylowski (nee Turner) and brother-in-law, Michael Turner, and his wife, Patricia (nee Mueller), his aunt Dellene Olendorff (nee Parr) cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Clifford and mother Lucille (nee Koch) two other sisters in law, Patricia (Raymond Malon), Marilyn Turner, brother-in-law Michaet Toczytowski and his many loved aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the oldest of the cousins on both the Olendorff and Koch sides of the families and he took that responsibility to heart. He arranged the Olendorff reunions for years. Some of his happiest times were on float trips and weekend get aways with friends. He loved to entertain our family and friends. Cooking and serving the turkey at Thanksgiving was always a special event. He hosted coffee clutch on Saturday mornings for his neighbors and uncle with much laughter and stories around the table. He always looked forward to getting together with his cousins at breakfast. The family reunions introduced by his cousin Terry Olendorff were such a special treat. For over sixty years he has remained connected with his friends from St Dominic High School. In his younger days, Wayne was a volunteer fireman for over 10 years in St. Peters achieving the rank of Captain. In his later years he served on the St. Peters Drainage District board. He loved to go hunting for deer and ducks. When his shoulder and back stopped him from hunting, he stayed connected by maintaining the books for Affy's Ducks. He was such an amazing husband, father, brother, and PaPa. He was one of the good guys. We miss and love you always!
Memorials may be made in Wayne's name to St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louis Food Bank.
A Celebration of Life in Wayne’s honor will be held at a later date.
