Walter L. Johnson

Walter L. Johnson was a caring husband, father, grandfather, friend and lived life to the fullest. He passed away peacefully in his home on December 8, 2023, at the age of 88.

 Walter was born to Mosby Johnson and Annie Mae Dowell on June 10, 1935. After graduating from Barret’s Chapel, Walter enlisted in the U.S Army in June of 1958, where he was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged June of 1960. He then migrated to St. Louis, MO. where he formed a union with Elsie Lee Johnson, who proceeded him in death. For 32 years he was employed with Boeing Aircraft, formally known as McDonnell Douglas. During this span, he received an associate degree which catapulted him to leadership positions within the corporation where he retired in March 1995.

Walter was a skilled auto mechanic, and a DIY expert. He was viewed as the family consultant, financial advisor and negotiator. He will always be remembered for his mentorship and quality advice.

Walter later remarried, who he leaves behind to cherish his memories, wife Georgia Johnson of 32 years.  Walter one of seven children brother of Betty Joe Smith, Earnestine Swift, Earl Kirk jr. (deceased), Esterine Kirk (deceased), Olivia Kirk (deceased), Earnest Lee Gates (deceased).  He had 5 children Derrick Flenoral (deceased), Cheryl (Landers) Jordan, Micheal Cannon, Bobby Moore, and Orville (Chasity) Johnson.

There were 12 grandchildren, Justin Flenorl, Kendra (Micheal) Carter, Bianca Flenorl, Alanda Jordan, Kamarese Johnson, Tara Phillips, Micheal jr. (Amber) Cannon, India Cannon, Aimee (Tim) Berry, Dominique (Taj) Adams, Chris (Tiara) Steed, Cameron (Katina) Johnson; with 33 Great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
