Walter Hoff

Their marriage & family began & endured for 62 great years. They lived just a short distance down the road in St. Paul from where Walter grew up as a child. Walter supported his family by joining his brother Joseph in business in the operation of their grain elevator, Annada Elevator. They served the farming community surrounding the town of Annada and cherished the friendships & relationships built over the years.

Walter is preceded in death by brothers Henry, Joseph, & Albert &his grandson Bradley. He is survived by wife Norma (Mueller) and his “7 BOYS” & their wives- Henry & Karen, Denny & Mary, Mike & Beth, Steve & Debbie, Randy & Kelly, Ron & Christa, and Bryan & Kelly. He is also survived by his adoring (23) grandchildren & (21) great grandchildren.

As a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Walter enjoyed many activities in the community. He was member of the St. Paul Knights of Columbus, & loved to play horseshoes, Euchre, & many sports. There was nothing he liked better than to watch a sporting event with his boys and “cheering” for a victory (in his own “unique” way!). He won (2) Euchre Tourney Championships while past the age of 80 & played as hard as he worked to the very end. Other things he enjoyed include: a good steak, scaring someone with a mischievous laugh, & finding humor each and every day.

Walter Hoff will be remembered by a lot of things, but nothing more prominent than his love. He showed this early on with his care & adoration for his mother Anna. However, nothing can compare to the love & affection he showered on his wife Norma. He lived his life to love his wife & displayed it proudly. That love filtered down to his children, his grandchildren, & everyone in his family. His family was what defined Walter and what he valued above all else. It was through his family that his deep love of Christ and religious faith became engrained into its core.

Walter’s physical presence will be deeply missed as a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, & friend. However, his legacy of love- for his wife, his family, his faith, & for laughter will continue forever. Walter Hoff’s 87 years on earth will be an eternal example for his family & friends of what it means to win in the game of “Life”. Plain and simple- Walter was deeply loved & will be sorely missed.
