Vonita “Rene” Stanfill (nee Gililland), of Foristell, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the age of 77. Cherished daughter of the late Russel and Genoa Gililland; devoted mother of Heath (Gina) Stanfill, Trish (Eric) Alderson and Leah (Chris Myers) Stanfill; loving grandmother of Logan Stanfill, Luke Stanfill, Aiden Alderson, Ethan Alderson and Alaina Alderson; dear sister of Andrew (Mary Lou) Gililland.
Vonita Stanfill was a strong, straightforward woman who never met a stranger, known for her honesty and fairness, she always spoke her mind but did so with warmth and kindness. Vonita had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, and her love for conversation made her a friend to many.
A devout member of her church community, Vonita was deeply involved in her faith and dedicated much of her time to service. She also had a love for adventure and was happiest on the water, whether she was waterskiing or snow skiing, or spending time at her favorite places, the river or the lake. Vonita had a passion for travel, exploring the world, yet her heart always belonged to the serenity of the water.
In 1968, alongside her spouse, Vonita co-founded Rustique Enterprises, a business she ran successfully as a bookkeeper and owner for over 50 years. Her strong work ethic and commitment to her family ensured that the business thrived.
Vonita was also a dedicated grandmother, always finding joy in her grandchildren’s company. She was an exceptional cook, known for her delicious meals that brought her close-knit family together. Her love, strength, and ability to hold her family close will forever be cherished.
Vonita leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and warmth that will be treasured by all who knew her.
