Vita M. Giorgi

Vita M. Giorgi (nee Critti), of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late Andrea Giorgi; cherished daughter of Rosa and the late Calogero Critti; devoted mother of Nick (Sally Giorgi) Giorgi; dear sister of Gaspare Critti; loving grandmother of Andrew Bird, Adam Bird, Andrew (Jordyn) Giorgi, Marie (Brandon) White, Katie Linford, and Krissie Linford; great-grandmother of Anistyn Giorgi, Gracie Giorgi, Elise Bird, James Bird, Gage Syberg, and Gavin Schearer. Vita is preceded in death by her daughter, Rosa Alba Bird.

Vita had a warm heart and a gentle, caring nature, always devoted to her family. A dedicated mother and a loving wife for over 60 years, she cherished her loved ones immensely. Her life’s journey spanned continents, beginning in the sun-soaked landscapes of Sicily and carrying her through Switzerland, Sweden—where she became a mother—and Germany before she and Andrea settled in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1971. Vita worked as an accomplished seamstress for Famous Barr. Vita loved gardening, canning the vegetables she grew, and was known for making the best homemade salsa. Life on their little homestead, complete with goats, rabbits, and chickens, brought her joy, as did the trips she and Andrea shared in their younger years. Vita was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
