Virginia Hearn Machir

Machir (nee: Hearn), 86, formerly of 1013 Concordia; Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday at Baue Funeral Home Chapel, 620 Jef-ferson St. Interment will be 2:00 PM at Elsberry Cemetery, Elsberry MO. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3:00–8:00 PM. Mrs. Machir died at the home of her daughter in Colorado on February 6, 2003. She was born in Troy, MO. She is survived by two children: Gerald R. Machir, Rosamond, CA, and Judith A. Hibdon, Longmont, CO; three sisters: Doris Boatman, Georgia Westwood, and Shirley Newby; one brother: David Hearn; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Machir was a member of the First Methodist Church, the McAdams Sunday School Class, the D.A.R., and the St. Charles Historical Society. She worked until the age of 72 as a retail sales person. Mrs. Machir loved to quilt and to travel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Machir; her parents, Dan & Maggie Hearn; two sisters: Helen Van Winkle and Janet Hayes; and dear friend, Foster Biser. Memorials donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
