Virginia (Ginna) Brazill (nee Toolen), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late John P. Brazill; cherished daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Rose Toolen; pre-deceased by her 13 siblings; devoted mother of Tom (Debbie) Brazill, Paul Brazill, Mary (Mark) Ferkel, Patrick (Kathy Soos) Brazill, John (Catina) Brazill, and the late Kathryn Ann Brazil; mother-in-law of Donna Brazill; loving grandmother of Jennifer (Enmanuel), Patrick (Annie), Kelly (Matt), Scott (Caitlin), Brittany (Jean), Kevin (Mary), Katie (Joe), Kristen (Cole), Michelle (Austin), Michael, Jaedon, Ryan, Kenny and Brett; treasured great-grandmother of Theo, Levon, Mabel, Xavier, Valerie, Walter, Brady, Haily, Campbell, Crosby, Brayden, Cameron and Bennett; beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Ginna was born into a large Irish Catholic family, the youngest of 13 children and the last surviving member of her gregarious family. She took great pride in her Irish heritage, she stressed the importance of faith and family to all, and she never let her husband forget that she was more Irish than he was. Her bright blue eyes, and beautiful smile made her as beautiful on the outside, as she was on the inside.
Ginna was very active and always liked to be on the go. She loved life and truly believed in living it to the fullest. She rarely declined an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, and her unmistakable laughter, which was very infectious, could fill a room.
No matter what activity Ginna was involved in - working, boating, bowling, playing cards - she enjoyed herself whole heartedly and formed lasting bonds with her cohorts. She cherished the many years of being a river rat, which included Friday night happy hours on the dock, hot dogs on the beach, and keeping a few beers chilled until her fellow boaters came to visit before leaving for the weekend. In her subdivision, she enjoyed playing poker with the guys, and pinochle with the ladies. She was part of an occasional card game night with her nieces and nephews, and she faithfully played Words with Friends with a large number of people.
Ginna also loved to cheer people on from the sidelines, whether she was just watching a volleyball game, or giving someone a thumbs up on Facebook. She loved to make sure everyone knew that she cared about them.
She loved family above all else. Her kids and grandkids were a tremendous source of pride and joy in her life. And then, she extended her reach to all branches of the family tree, especially to anyone that was in need of a mother or a sister. She formed a bond, and continued to nurture it. For that, and for many other reasons, Ginna was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in Ginna's name to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
