Alvina “Vindy” Marie DeSplinter (nee Eilers), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the age of 84. Loving wife of Ronald D. DeSplinter; beloved daughter of the late George Henry and Anna Hazel Eilers; devoted mother of Kevin (Joan) DeSplinter, Randy (Laura) DeSplinter, and Becky (Andy) Holtgrieve; cherished grandmother of Katie (Dominic) Grossman, Eric (Kelly) DeSplinter, David DeSplinter, Adam (Alyssa Golz) DeSplinter, Austin Holtgrieve, and Drew Holtgrieve; treasured great-grandmother of Chyler DeSplinter and Lindy Grossman; dear sister of Venita Ewing and Eugene (Phyllis) Eilers. She is preceded in death by her three brothers, Alvin (Eileen) Eilers, Frank (Joan) Eilers, Kenneth Eilers; and sister, Ruth Eilers.
Vindy was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church. She had many things she enjoyed in her free time, such as gardening, bowling, and golfing. She could frequently be found cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, as well as Mizzou. Vindy was a phenomenal baker. Her grandchildren were never short of her homemade cookies and pies. She loved to take photos and put together countless scrapbooks of her grandchildren over the years. Vindy was most happy when her whole family could all be under one roof. Family was always her focus and joy. She will be remembered as a graceful, giving and compassionate soul and she will be missed immensely by her family and all who had the joy of knowing her.
Memorial contributions may be made in Vindy's honor to First United Methodist.
