Shanks; dear son of the late Charles and the late Mona Shanks; loving father of Robert V. Shanks and Linda (Gene) Shanks Bacon; cherished grandfather of 9, great-grandfather of 13, and dear uncle to many. He is preceded in death by William V. Shanks, son, and 2 brothers and 1 sister. He was employed as a Superintendant for General Motors. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 796, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and St. Marks Methodist Church in Florissant, Missouri. He served in the Army Air Corps.
