Vickie K. Davis

Vickie Kaye Davis (nee Moore), of Columbia, MO, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the age of 72. Cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruby Moore; devoted mother of Kelly Davis and Shannon (James) Hodges; loving grandmother of Colin, Patrick, Christopher and Piper; dear sister of Dianna Moore.

Vickie dedicated 25 years of her career to Shelter Insurance, where she worked as an attorney in the litigation department. She also shared her knowledge and passion for learning as a professor at Columbia College for at least 20 years.

Outside of her professional life, Vickie found joy in gardening, traveling, reading, especially murder mysteries and cheering on Mizzou sports. Above all else, one of the greatest joys of her life was being a grandma. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and nothing brought a bigger smile to her face or made her laugh quite like they did.

Vickie was known for her beautiful smile, her big, contagious laugh, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She had a way of making people feel special, and her love for her family was evident in everything she did.

Vickie was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, laughter, dedication, and cherished memories will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, former students, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Memorials may be made in Vickie's name to Alzheimer’s Association.
