Verda Lee Bueneman passed away peacefully in her home on October 13, 2023. Verda was born on October 5, 1936, in Risco, Missouri to Cecil and Myrtle Dubois. Verda married the late Paul Bueneman on April 3rd, 1954, and immediately joined her husband in Colorado Springs, CO while he served his country. Paul and Verda raised three children together. She was employed many years with the Ferguson Florissant School District until she retired after moving to St. Charles, Missouri.
Surviving Verda are her eldest son, David Bueneman and his wife, Kathy Bueneman of St. Charles, MO, her daughter Julie Baker (Chico Bailey) of St. Charles, MO, and her youngest son, Jeffrey Bueneman and his wife, Diane Bueneman of O'Fallon, MO.; 7 grandchildren: Samantha (Jarod) Duke, Kaitlin (Kyle) Goltz, Meghan (Matt) Lahr, Michael (Tiffany) Cooper, Mandy (Ted) Iffrig, Sarah (Sunny) Bueneman, and Sam Bueneman; 11 great-grandchildren with another on the way; her sisters Linda Byrd, Betty Murphy, Gloria Moore and brother, Steve Dubois; and her beloved dog Aayla.
Verda was a devout Christian with a fondness for animals, and a feisty personality that drew her to others easily. Verda touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to The St. Charles Pet Adoption Center at 4850 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Peters, MO 63376.
