Vera Louise Verhine (nee Fuller), of St. Charles, MO, passed away on June 14, 2024, at the age of 81 after a brief illness. She was born on September 24, 1942, in St. Louis, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Marie Fuller, and her sister, Gloria June Hoepfner. She is survived by her brother, Olaf Wayne (Brenda) Fuller. Loving mother of Stephanie (Julie Ward) Verhine, Shelby (Matt) Graves, Alan (Angel) Verhine, and Julia (John) Murphy. Proud grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, and great great-aunt.
She is also survived by her close friends with whom she loved having lunch, chit chatting, and laughing.
Vera enjoyed Broadway musicals and anything related to theatre and dance. She loved participating in theatrical productions with the St. Charles Jaycees, Lindenwood College, and St. Charles Community College. Vera spent many years as a secretary at Gou-Jon' Academy of Dance where she was beloved by all who knew "Miss Vera”.
As an avid seamstress, she sewed countless outfits for her children, costumes and accessories for dance recitals, and Christmas stockings for her family. Vera also sewed and crocheted many blankets, scarves, and pillows for her children and grandchildren that they will cherish forever.
Vera loved education and reading. She graduated from Pacific High School at the age of 16, and she earned an Associate’s Degree from St. Charles Community College at the age of 77.
Memorial donations can be made in her honor to the WISE Foundation, which supports the teachers and students of the Warren County R3 School District.
