Thelma Jean Place

Thelma “Sis” Place (nee Livengood), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Russell H. Place; cherished daughter of the late Robert and Nellie Livengood. Devoted mother of Russell Johnny (Yvonne) Place, Connie (Dennis) Gamache, and Barbara Robertson loving grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Preceded in death by two sons, Michael Place and Robert Place; and grandson, Dennis Gamache Jr.

Thelma loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing with family. She was a military spouse and enjoyed traveling to many places. She and Russell were married for 62 wonderful years. She retired from Ritenour School District and loved raising her 5 children. Thelma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
