Terry A. Oswald

August 18, 1964 — July 26, 2025

Saint Peters, Missouri

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Terry Allen Oswald, a devout Lutheran, and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and cherished friend, who left a lasting legacy of faith, family, and fellowship. Terry was born on August 18, 1964, and entered into eternal peace on July 26, 2025.

Terry is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tracy and their 3 children Alex, Adam, and Emma who were the pride and joy of his life. His family was the center of his world, and he was known for his unwavering support, kindness, and wisdom as a father and husband. He is also survived by his parents, Elmer and Velma Oswald, his brother David Oswald, sister Christina Oswald, nephew Nathan (Ryley) Oswald, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terry is preceded in death by his children, triplets Anna Rose, Nicholas David, and Jacob Paul who were born and entered into eternal life on October 4, 2003.

Terry was an alumnus of University of Missouri, Rolla (now Missouri S&T) where he majored in mechanical engineering. He later worked towards a master’s degree in engineering management from Washington University in 2002. This led to an exciting career at McDonell-Douglas, which became Boeing, where he was a dedicated employee for just short of 40 years.

Terry worked as a structural design engineer on the F-15 Eagle, A-12 Avenger, AV-8B Harrier, F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and Phantom Works proprietary programs and then as the technical integrator for the F/A-18 for the Royal Australian Air Force. He moved into management leading teams on the MQ-25 Stingray, 777x and finished as a senior manager leading the airframe team within Phantom Works.

Outside of work, Terry was a committed lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church St. Charles, MO where he served faithfully as an Usher, Elder, and on the sausage supper committee, cemetery board, and many others. Faith was the cornerstone of Terry's life. He found comfort and guidance in worship, prayer, and service, and generously shared his spirituality through acts of kindness. But above all else, his greatest joy was his family — his unwavering devotion to them defined who he was. He truly enjoyed planning trips for his family, and he enjoyed exploring National Parks with them the most!

Terry was a loyal friend and loved by so many. Whether sharing stories over a round of golf, playing cards or group trips skiing with friends, his sense of humor and generous personality made others want to be around him.

Terry will be deeply missed for his kind heart, steadfast faith, laughter, and joy in life's simple pleasures. His devotion to God, love for his family, and the fellowship he shared with friends will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Zion Lutheran Endowment Fund in honor of his deep-rooted faith, and commitment to Christian education.
