Terrence Michael Rohen, Ph.D.

May 29, 1943 — May 28, 2024

St. Charles, Missouri

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terrence Michael Rohen, Ph.D., on May 28, 2024, in St. Charles, MO.  He was in the company of family at his home and listening to Ray Charles singing “Amazing Grace” in his final moments.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne E. Rohen (nee Pohlmann), his son, Sean P. Rohen (Heather Cameron), his daughter, Jennifer E. Rohen, grandchildren Grace Rohen, Charlie Rohen, Sean Gerty, and Brynn Gerty.  He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews and their children as well as a very loyal poker club.  He was preceded in death by Thelma Rohen, Alfred Rohen, Michael Rohen, and Sheila Reagan (nee Rohen).

Terry was born on May 29, 1943, in Lakewood, OH.  In his life and career as a psychologist in private practice, he touched many people and willingly engaged in their healing journeys.  Additionally, he served as a consultant to the St. Charles Police Department, assisted with numerous forensic evaluations, and worked extensively alongside Jeanne as an organizational consultant.

On his 80th birthday, Terry shared that the best moments in his life included meeting and ultimately marrying Jeanne, graduating with his Ph.D., and opening his own business.  He loved his wife fiercely and told the love at first sight story to anyone who would listen. He was dedicated to his children, grandchildren, and family, and was always willing to listen to their successes and troubles, or to offer insight into their life stories.  Terry’s interests included playing pokerlistening to jazz music, reading, studying vocabulary, meditating, storytelling, writing, physical fitness, driving fast cars, cheering on the St. Louis Cardinalsshooting off fireworks, and spending quality time with his wife and family. Every person who met and spent time with Terry liked him within minutes and loved him within an hour.

A celebration of life is being planned for Summer of 2024.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles, MO.
