Sylvia Lynn Brooks, of Brownsburg, IN, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 at the age of 70. Survived by her brother, Clark (Pam) Brooks and sister-in-law Melanie Brooks (the late John Brooks). Sylvia is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Georgann Brooks, her siblings John Randall Brooks, Lenore Brooks, and Lisa Smith.

Sylvia was a woman of faith and was an active member of the New Hope Christian Church. She was an avid flower gardener and bird watcher; Sylvia found joy in nature and shared her love of the outdoors with those around her. Her passion for travel allowed her to explore new places, while her interest in genealogy helped her connect with her roots and family history. Known for her warm heart, she was deeply loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

For over 20 years, Sylvia worked as a nanny for a family which became her family. Sylvia’s nurturing nature made her an invaluable part of their lives. In addition to her dedication to her family, she volunteered at the Indianapolis Children's Museum, touching the lives of countless children and families through her service.

Sylvia was known for her hugs and kisses, and her ability to make people feel special will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Memorials may be made in Sylvia's name to New Hope Christian Church, Whitestown, Indiana or IDES International Disaster Emergency Service of Indiana
