Susan Timmerman

July 8, 1945 — March 27, 2025

Susan C. Shader Timmerman, beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 8, 1945, Sue lived a life defined by kindness, patience, and an undying devotion to her family. She was the cherished wife of Donald G. Timmerman of St. Charles, Missouri, with whom she shared a life full of tender moments, shared interests, and enduring love.

Sue was a proud and loving mother to Stephanie (Rob) Puhse and Amy (Scott) Orf, and a wonderful stepmother to Jody (Judy) Timmerman, Jamie (Tammy) Timmerman, and Mackenzie (Ben) Siders. Nothing brought her more happiness than watching her family grow. She was a devoted grandmother to Amanda, Adam, Megan (Carson), Brody, Sommer (Nick), Felicity (Grant), Spencer (Kate), Anna, Maggie, Hayden, and Charlie. Being “Great-Grandma” to Anakin and Grant Jr. filled her heart and kept her smiling.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Rich Shader; her loving parents, Jack and F. Ruth (née Hotz) Schenk; and other cherished family and friends who have gone before her.

Sue had a remarkable ability to make people feel seen and loved. Her home was a place of laughter and the kind of comfort that only a mother's presence could provide. Whether she was cheering on her grandchildren, offering wisdom and support, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of hot tea, Sue did everything with grace and love.

She had a gift for making a house feel like a home — from decorating with thoughtful details to cooking meals that brought people together. She never missed a birthday, and her handmade cards and notes were small treasures that made others feel special. Holidays were her favorite time of year, when her creativity and warmth lit up every room.

She will be remembered for her love of family, her resilience after the passing of her husband Rich, and her creativity and desire to make everything around her feel warm and beautiful.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Evelyn’s House Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri, in honor of the compassionate care they provided.

A private service will be held at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
