Sue Baldwin was born in St. Charles, Missouri on April 11, 1955. She passed away on July 24, 2023 at home after living with cancer since 2014.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillian, and two brothers, Dick and Bruce. She is survived by her loving partner, Jim Burski, her niece, Robin High (Jeff), her 2 nephews Raymond Thomas (Susie) and Rick Thomas (Chris), and many family members, friends, and acquaintances.
Sue was raised in the St. Charles area. She started her undergraduate degree at MU-Columbia, and transferred to SMSU-Springfield, earning a BA degree in Fine Arts. Her first teaching position was in Fair Grove. Sue later completed an MA degree in Art Education, while working as a K-12 Art Instructor at Greenwood Laboratory School on the SMSU (now MSU) campus.
Sue was so much fun to be around and very creative. She was an accomplished painter, specializing in watercolors. She had a love for cats and always had at least one in her home. Sue loved to travel and made a number of trips to England, and other European countries. Sue also loved music and dancing. She was an accomplished contra dancer. Sue was an excellent gardener as could be seen in her beautiful garden beds. She enjoyed sitting on her back porch with a fire in the pit and enjoying a glass of wine and the outdoors. Sue also loved to find junk and repurpose it. She had a popular booth at Spring Creek Antiques where one could find many of her creations.
Sue was well loved and will be greatly missed. You were lucky to be one of her friends. Sue will be missed by all of her many relatives, friends, and acquaintances.
