Steven Clark Schwendemann, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the age of 50. Dear son of Charles Lee Schwendemann and the late Mary Lou Schwendemann; loving father of Clark "Chip" Schwendemann, Grace Schwendemann, and William Schwendemann; dear friend and mother of his children Jennifer Schwendemann; dear brother of Paul (Sandy) Schwendemann and Mary (Michael) Castrali; cherished nephew of Miriam "Neffy" Fischer. Steve was a dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his step-mother Bonnie Schwendemann, and uncles Robert Fischer and Wayne Fischer.
Steve was a proud member of Sigma Chi, and made many lifelong friends through his fraternity. His greatest joy was having a house full of people to entertain for holidays and special occasions, and he always made sure there was music, good food, and that pictures were being taken to capture the moment. His presence at these events will be greatly missed.
His arsenal of photographs on his computer consisted mainly of his children whom he loved with all his heart. A family history of vacations, homecoming dances, graduations, soccer games and candid photos will help his family forever keep his memory alive.
Steve also loved being on the water, whether it be the ocean, a lake, or just sailing on the Missouri River. He found peace there and liked to plan trips with his family to places where they could enjoy a jet ski ride, renting a boat, or just lounging on the shore. His office was filled with reminders of these times - anchors, ducks and replicas of sailboats among them.
A brilliant lawyer and graduate of the Saint Louis University law school, Steve was a member of the Missouri Bar Association.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duchesne High School or Legal Services of Eastern Missouri.
