Stephen Robert Schultheis, of Paris, MO, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Marilyn L. Schultheis; cherished son of the late George and Alois Schultheis; he is also survived by his two children from his first marriage, Stephen Schultheis Jr. and Gretschen Schultheis, and also father to Marilyn’s children, Shannon (Clayton) Scharff, Gene (Tammy) Loughran, and William (Jenny) Loughran; loving grandfather of Kelsey (Chase) Thompson, Sean Loughran, Kayla Loughran, William Loughran, Austin (Trisha) Scharff, Robert Loughran, M (Lawrence) Loughran-Jennings, James (Chloe) Loughran, Capri (David) Scharff Yang, Brian Loughran, Willow Loughran, and Ruby Loughran; treasured great grandfather of Brian Johnson, Kairav Scharff, and Oliver Thompson; dear brother of Barbara (Daryl) Hoefer and Tom (Linda) Schultheis; loving uncle to 4 nieces and their children. Steve was preceded in death by three sons, Kevin (surviving Mary Ann) Loughran, Brian Loughran, and Patrick (surviving Cindy) Loughran.
Steven proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the CV38 USS Shangri-La. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service with General Motors. Steve was a humble and devout Christian. He attended Shelbina Baptist Church for many years prior to attending Holiday Christian Church in Holiday, MO. Steve's enjoyment in life was traveling the great outdoors and always finding a fishing hole wherever he went. Steve was a talented woodworker and enjoyed running his beagles. Steve was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Steve's name to Samaritan's Purse.
