Sophronia J. Snead

Sophie Jane Snead (nee Evans), of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Harold Snead; cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel Evans; devoted mother of Doyle (Karen) Snead, Randy (Lisa) Snead, Ernie (Nancy) Snead, Joel Snead, and Sandy Roman; loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother of many; dear sister of Myra Biaotto, Patricia Mitchell, Carol Green, the late Bill Evans, and the late Dorothy Lee.

Sophie was a dedicated member of the BJC St. Peters Hospital Auxiliary, First Baptist Church in O’Fallon, and the charity Dresses for Haiti. A talented seamstress, she lovingly created hundreds of dresses for children in Haiti and made beautiful quilts for her grandchildren. She took great pride in raising her five children. Sophie was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
