January 9, 1942 — December 29, 2025

St. Peters, Missouri

Sieglinde “Siggi” G. Courtney passed away December 29, 2025, at the age of 83. She would have been 84 in early January. She had courageously battled various ailments for many years, including arthritis, leukemia, and a rare muscle disease. She died peacefully, in the hospital during her final hours fighting complications from a perforated colon.

Siggi was the beloved wife of Jerry Courtney, the mother to her two surviving sons Mike and Daniel, and sister to Angelika Jones. She also had 4 grandchildren, Alex, Sarah, Olivia, and Alyse who will miss her very much.

She married Jerry in 1960 in Austria and had lived in numerous interesting places due to Jerry's time in the Air Force. Siggi was born in Germany and always missed being there once she was unable to physically travel back there anymore.

She worked mostly as a medical coder at St. Charles Orthopedic Office for many years, after the kids had been raised.

Siggi loved her family and friends dearly and was always happiest when they were around.

When not, she had an affinity towards animals, having adopted numerous dogs and cats throughout the years. She had a special adoration for elephants as well, due to their intelligence, strength, and compassion; attributes that describe Siggi as well.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Siggi's memory to The Elephant Sanctuary.

A private family service will be held at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
