Shirley A. Michaels

Shirley Ann Michaels (nee Carey), of St. Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of James C. Michaels; cherished daughter of the late Osmar W. and Irene F. Carey; devoted mother of Sherrill (Roy) Schuster, Gayle Michaels, and Brian (Tori) Michaels; loving grandmother of 9, dearest great-grandmother & great-great-grandmother; dear sister of Nancy (Bob) Lade. Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Eldon Carey, and her sister, Arletta Jennings.

Shirley had a warm and generous heart. She was happily married to James for 75 years, building a loving life together with their family. She cherished knitting and took great joy in wrapping others in warmth through the lap blankets and hats she lovingly created. Deeply involved in her faith community at Our Savior Lutheran Church, she volunteered her time with braille work and Bible studies, always seeking to serve others. A devoted grandmother, she cared tenderly for her grandchildren, and her family holds cherished memories of Sunday dinners spent together. She also enjoyed bowling and the camaraderie it brought. Shirley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
