Shirley M. Mackey

Shirley M. Mackey, age 94, of O Fallon, died on Monday, October 24, 2022, with her family by her side.  

Shirley was born July 27, 1928, to Corinne and Harry Becker.  She was especially proud to have been a direct descendant of the founder of O’Fallon Nikolas Krekle.  She attended Assumption High School and was a lifelong member of Assumption Church. 

Shirley’s greatest joy was her children, spending time with them and her 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  Shirley loved her home and was always looking for ways to display her many cherished gifts from her family.  Shirley enjoyed crocheting and reading. 

Shirley is survived by her children: David (Janice) Mackey, Steve (Sandra) Mackey, Sharon (Dennis) Campbell, Mary Mackey, and Melinda (Mike) Goodrich; and her sister, Patricia (Red) Lewis.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Corinne Becker, and her children, Jim Mackey and Sharlet Mackey. 

Shirley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's name to Masses at Assumption Catholic Church in O’Fallon, MO.
