Shirley A. Fischer

Fischer, Shirley A. (nee: Reed) of Fenton, MO, died on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Richard “Rich” Fischer; cherished daughter of the late Everett and Ann Reed; devoted mother of Donna (Bill) Tischler, Jan (Randy) Thouvenot, and Richard “Rick” (Kim Lancia) Fischer; loving grandmother of Candice (Adrian) Howard, Billy (Nicole) Tischler, Chad (Mandy) Williams, Ericca (Darion) Buckner, Chelsie (Jordan) Swindle, and Paige Fischer; treasured great-grandmother of six; dear sister of Doris Gregory; best friend to the other half of “Laverne and Shirley”, Laverne Recsnik. Shirley is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her siblings: Dottie Caldwell and Russell Reed.

Shirley worked in many different fields during her lifetime, but she retired from North County Technical School, where she worked as a secretary. She was also a Brownie leader and Room Mother for her children, during their school years. Shirley enjoyed online shopping, making stockings and ornaments for her family, and was a “Pogo” gaming enthusiast. She was a great cook, a wonderful mother, and loved spending quality time with her family and close friends.

Shirley’s family wants to extend a special thank you to Winnie for all of her help and care. In addition, they would like to thank Heather and Theresa from SSM Hospice. They played a large part in helping the family get through this difficult time.
