St. Ann, Missouri

Sherman Vaughn Bentley, of Saint Ann, MO, previously of Dorton, KY, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the age of 70. Cherished son of Ira Bentley and the late Nellie Marie Bentley; devoted father of Leslie (Robert) Little; loving grandfather of Robert Jackson Little, Emma Little and Ethan Little; dear brother of Roger (Tanishae) Bentley, David Joe (Gayla) Bentley, Michelle (Joseph) Van Meter, Lisa (Cameron) Cook and the late Anthony (Kathy survives) Bentley; Sherman is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Sherman, a true jack of many trades, showcased his musical prowess with unparalleled skill. A self-taught virtuoso, he mastered the keyboard, piano, and guitar. As a singer and songwriter, Sherman poured his soul into his craft, creating melodies that resonated with the depths of human emotion. A member of the Missouri Most Wanted Outlaw Band, Sherman's weekends were filled with the joy of playing music with his bandmates. This commitment to his craft and the camaraderie of the band reflected his passion for music.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Sherman dedicated time to share his talents with others. Every day during lunch at his job, he played the piano, filling the space with beautiful melodies that brought solace and joy to the residents. His generosity of spirit knew no bounds.

An avid animal lover, Sherman's affection extended to his cherished dog, Oliver, who held a special place in his heart. Beyond the companionship of his loyal canine friend, Sherman found joy in the company of horses, relishing the freedom and connection that came with riding.

Renowned for his quick wit and sense of humor, Sherman was a natural jokester, always ready to bring laughter into the lives of those around him. His positive outlook on life, with a glass perpetually half full, uplifted the spirits of everyone he encountered. Sherman was a beacon of joy, striving to make others happy with his infectious laughter and warm demeanor.

Sherman was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
