Sharon Polster

Polster, Sharon L., of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the age of 75. Loving wife of James V. Polster; beloved daughter of the late Garland Shepherd and Marie Estelle Davis; devoted mother of Lori (Michael) C. McGuckin and Cindy (Jay) Dupske; cherished grandmother of James Maffrand, Michael McGuckin, Jr. and Jennifer Jane Dupske; dear sister of Glenda C. Thomas; beloved sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin and a friend to many. She is preceded in death by daughter, Jennifer Lynn Polster. Sharon was an activist in many fields; she was a chairman of the Coalition Against Concealed Weapons, formed the group Concerned Mothers for Education, and was an active Vietnam War Protestor. During the flood of 1993 she was the Rescue Coordinator for the St. Charles Humane Society and was referred to as “The Boat Lady”. Memorials may be made to St. Charles Humane Society or Salvation Army.
