Sharon Jeanette Melton

Sharon Jeanette Melton (nee Zoph), of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Russell Melton, Jr.; cherished daughter of George and Ada Zoph; devoted mother of Russ (Chantel) Melton, III and Matthew (Kimberly) Melton; loving grandmother of Layne Melton, Haven Melton, Lydia Melton, and Abigail Melton; dear sister of George Zoph, Jr. Sharon is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Melton and her sister, Shirley Jean Zoph.

Sharon loved to cook, craft, and garden, taking great joy in growing both flowers and vegetables, and was known as an amazing cook. She had a strong faith, cherished her relationship with God, and was a wonderful mentor to anyone seeking spiritual guidance, always open to sharing her love for Him. Married for 57 years to her devoted husband, Russell, Sharon adored her children and grandchildren and was deeply selfless and kind, with her family meaning everything to her. She was adventurous and embraced life fully, enjoying travel, cruises, learning about history, relaxing at the beach, and collecting shells. Sharon cared deeply for others and lived with an open-door policy, always welcoming those in need. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
