Saphira Faye Morgan

February 24, 2026 — February 24, 2026

Saphira Faye Morgan was named for the great dragon of The Inheritance Cycle, a creature of strength, brilliance, and boundless devotion. Like the legend from which her name was drawn, she was radiant and fierce in her own quiet way. Though her story on earth was heartbreakingly brief, her name — and the love it carries — will echo far beyond this life.

She was, and always will be, the deeply beloved and forever treasured daughter of Alexis Donaldson and Alexander Morgan; the precious and devotedly loved granddaughter of Ron Thomas, Amanda Hancock, and Sarah Morrison; lovingly awaited and eternally cherished sister of Casey Morgan.

Saphira weighed 3 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 18 inches long. Though her time with us was far too short, the flame of her life burned bright, steady, and beautiful from beginning to end. Her earthly light flickered only briefly, yet it shone with a brilliance and warmth that will never fade from the hearts of those who love her.

Below is a blessing spoken in the “Ancient Language” from the world of The Inheritance Cycle, a language in which no falsehood can be spoken — only truth carried with full sincerity. Also attached is a poem that deeply touched our hearts.

Atra du evarínya ono varda, sé du manin abr onr ástar gëuloth du verkr abr osthato, un atra mor’ranr lífa unin onr drjugr slytha.

“May the stars watch over you, may the memory of your love dull the pain of mourning, and let peace live in your lasting sleep.”

Feelings

We feel sad, for what we have lost.

We feel happy, for what we have had.

We feel poor, for the empty spaces.

We feel rich, for we have each other.

We will cry, for what we can't have.

We will laugh, for our memories abound.

We will hurt, for the love we can't have.

We will rejoice, for the love we have received.

We will be restless, for our lives are not whole.

We will be peaceful, for we know it is not forever.

Memorials may be made to a Go Fund me: In Honor of Saphira’s Memory
