Samuel Edward West

Samuel Edward West, of Detroit, MI, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the age of 79. Loving husband of Floretha West; beloved son of the late Ernestine and James West; devoted father of Alicia W. and Kimela (Alan Byrd) West; cherished grandfather of Alexander Byrd, and Aidan Byrd; dear brother of James (Lucinda) West, Audrey (Rufus) Johnson, Paulette West; treasure uncle to many nieces and nephews. Samuel is also preceded in death by his siblings Otis West, David West, Ronald West, Donna Abernathy, Darlene West, Linda West, and Paulette West. 

Samuel served his country with pride in the United States Army. He held his family close to his heart. Deeply loved, Samuel will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
