Samuel Jay Wares

Samuel Jay Wares, of Saint Charles, MO passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the age of 64. Cherished son of the late James Joseph Wares and Helen Ann Barger; dear brother of Debbra (Ken) Murphy, Jim (Zebunisa) Wares, Jr., Glenda Hughes, and the late Mayre Falta. Sam was a loving uncle, cousin and friend.

Sam found peace at Willow Way, where he became a valued member of a caring community. A strong and resilient man, he carried that spirit throughout his life. In his younger years, Sam enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, and he especially loved shooting hoops whenever he could. Sam was very skilled at chess and had a love of singing. He was known for his charm, his ability to make others smile, leaving behind warm memories that will be treasured by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at Willow Way for the compassion, dedication, and kindness you have shown Sam over the past couple of years. We are deeply grateful for everything you have done.

Memorials may be made in Sam's name to Brain Injury Association of Missouri.
