Ruth V. Empio

Ruth V Empio (nee Chappell), of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at the age of 96. Loving wife to the late Angelo "John" Empio; beloved daughter to the late Leroy and Carrie Chappell. Dear Aunt to Sue and Sam Dearing. Fun and loving "Grandma" to Carrie (Handing) Kunin and Dan Handing. A good sister, friend, and mentor to many. Ruth lived a long and successful life. She and John traveled, hosted friends, cared for many and became family to the Handing family. Once John passed Ruth became a volunteer reading tutor, which earned her a presidential citation that she proudly displayed for years. Ruth adored the dogs she adopted, and they brought her delight in her later years.  She brought joy to countless people, was quick to laugh and always honest. Ruth touched the lives of so many, and she will be missed. 

Memorials may be made in Ruth's name to the Humane Society of Missouri.
