Ruth Ann Williams of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, at the age of 66. Beloved wife of the late Jim Williams; cherished daughter of Eleanor Hallquist and the late Donald Hallquist; devoted mother of James “Jamie” Williams IV, and Julie Williams; loving grandmother of Jace Williams; dear sister of Rhoda (Gary) Hartstack, Knute (Denise) Hallquist, Kevin (Cindy) Hallquist, and Keith (Kim) Hallquist; and treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Ruth was born and raised in Stanton, IA. She was a confirmed member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Ruth graduated from Stanton High School in 1970 before continuing her education at Northwest Missouri State University. She was a dedicated sorority sister in Sigma Sigma Sigma. She met and married James “Jim” Williams III in July 1973. Ruth continued her education and received a Master’s Degree at Lindenwood University. She retired from education after teaching for 41 years at the Academy of the Sacred Heart and Fort Zumwalt School District.
Ruth loved being with family and friends. She treasured her time with her husband, Jim. They were a perfect team. Being a mother to Jamie and Julie brought Ruth indescribable joy and Jace - there was nothing better in her eyes. She took advantage of every moment with him. She shared many stories again and again bringing joy and laughter to everyone. Ruth was truly the light of many lives. Her wisdom and kindness guided many throughout her life. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude. Ruth was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
