McGowan, Russell L., of Saint Charles, MO, died on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the age of 85. Loving husband of Patricia McGowan; beloved son of the late Roy and Edna McGowan; devoted father of Debbie (Joe) Brocksmith, Larry McGowan, and Paul (Laurie) McGowan; and cherished grandfather of Jennifer Riggins, Matt Schmaltz, Nathan Schmaltz, and Kathleen McGowan. He is preceded in death by his step-mother, Margaret McGowan and siblings Marge Miller, Earl McGowan, Ethel McKinney, Ruth Meyer, and Kenny McGowan.
Russell proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid golfer, bowler, tennis player, runner, and reader. He had a lifelong passion for square dancing. Russell will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
