RosaLee Snowden

RosaLee Snowden (nee Schmitz), of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the age of 87. Loving wife of the late Raymond Snowden; Beloved daughter of the late Hubert and Alice Schmitz; devoted mother of Julia (Barry) Noggle, Donald Curtis, Jr., Cheryn (James Sr.) Bailey, and Michael (Leisa) Snowden; cherished grandmother of Loralie, Daryl, Jimmy, Chrissy, Elizabeth, Scott, Brendan, Yvonne, Madeline, and Christopher; treasured great-grandmother of Drew, Hunter, Beckett, Emma, Cecilia, Jarrod, Ryan, Bailey, Mia, Joshua, Raven, Louie, Ethan, Mila, Andrew, Eli, Carmen, Jack, Charlie, and Andi; and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. RosaLee is also preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Ann Griffith; brothers, John Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, and Delmer Schmitz.

RosaLee grew up in Beloit, KS. She was the unofficial "Social Director" at Canterbury Park, where she lived at the center of the activity. RosaLee loved dancing and was a dance instructor when she was younger. She loved her family dearly and loved good food, whether enjoying a dinner out or eating at home. Italian food was her favorite, but she enjoyed every other type of delicious meal. RosaLee retired from the State of Missouri where she worked in the communications field. She was also very proud of her years at DePaul Hospital, where she served as a switchboard operator.

RosaLee met her husband Ray in Denver, Colorado, where he worked as a police officer. They moved to the St. Louis area where Ray grew up. RosaLee and Raymond were married for 25 loving years and they raised four children together. She always cared about animals, especially her dogs Gus and Kieboo. RosaLee was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in RosaLee's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Five Acres Animal Shelter.
