Ronald R. Wussler

July 5, 1940 — May 26, 2026

Chesterfield, Missouri

Ronald R. Wussler, a man known for his kind heart and unwavering devotion to his children and grandchildren, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri, Ron built his life the same way he built homes — with his hands, his patience, and quiet pride in a job well done.

For most of his working life, Ron was a carpenter. He had a craftsman's soul, and those who knew him saw that same care extended far beyond the job site. When he wasn't swinging a hammer, he could be found at the bowling lanes — a passion he carried for years. When he wanted something quieter, he'd settle in with a crossword puzzle or Sudoku, the kind of man who liked to keep his mind as busy as his hands. But perhaps nothing lit him up quite like showing up for his grandchildren. Ball games & track meets, concerts, musicals & plays, piano & dance recitals, horse shows, graduations — Ron was there. He made it a point to be present, and his grandchildren knew it.

In his final years, Ron lived at a skilled nursing facility where his health required around-the-clock care. Even as Parkinson's disease took more and more from him physically, it never dimmed his spirit or his gratitude. He thanked the staff constantly — for the small things, the everyday things, the things others might have taken for granted. He was kind and caring to the end, and the people around him felt it.

Ron is survived by his children Julie (Alan) Skrainka, Lisa Meyer, Chrissy (Ryan) Eckman, and Cory (Nikki) Chappell; his grandchildren Drew (Noam) Skrainka, Allie (Zach) Schwermann, John Skrainka, Amber Donaubauer, Jacob (Sarah Beth) Donaubauer, Collin, Noah and Paige Meyer, Tyler (Jenna) Eckman, Lexi Eckman, and Chloe and Grace Chappell; and his great-grandchildren Lucia and Dominic Webb and Aiden, Aleena, Emmalyn and Harvey Donaubauer. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Wussler; his mother Agnes (Huellewig-Wussler) Baker; and his siblings Robert Wussler, Marlene Anderson, and John Baker.

Ron Wussler was not a complicated man. He was a carpenter who bowled, a grandpa who showed up, and a man who made sure the people around him felt seen and appreciated. That is a life well lived.
