Major Ronald E. Davis Sr. was a great citizen, role model, loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and veteran. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio and attended college at Wright State University. At the age 23 he was drafted into the U.S. Army. After officer candidate school he became a military police officer before going overseas. He met his beautiful and loving wife Adanasia Ellenizia while stationed in Germany.
In Ft. Benning, Georgia Ronald took an advanced course to become a Captain in the U.S. Army. He was relocated to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky for 4 years, and was a part of the 101st Airborne, 8th Infantry. After spending a year of duty in Korea he was stationed back overseas in Germany for 5 years where he advanced to Major. After 5 years as serving as major, he retired with 20 years of service with the U.S. army in 1989.
After retiring he took up playing alto and tenor saxophone. He played the saxophone with St. Charles Community Concert band including Christmas concerts every year, for several years. He started and completed a 16-year career with State Farm working storm duty as a claim’s specialist. He worked Hurricane Andrew in Miami, Florida. He was very passionate about Education and was very involved and supportive of his grandchildren and their passion for education, music and sports. He rarely missed a high school game or performance involving his children or grandchildren.
Major Ronald E. Davis, Sr. lived in St. Charles county for 31 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Adanasia E. Davis; daughter, Sandra Davis Thomas, son Ronald E. Davis Jr., grandchildren: Cameron A. Davis, Rayna Ruth D. Thomas, Suzeann Rose D. Thomas, and Tracie E. Davis; sisters Renee Davis and Kimberly Conner; aunt Mary, many cousins and good friend Dennis Daniels.
