Robert C. Whitman

Robert Charles Whitman, of Wentzville, MO, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at the age of 91. Loving husband of the late Joan Isabel Whitman; beloved son of the late Scott Russell and Dorothy Whitman; devoted father of Ann (Joseph) Meuth and Ty R. (Jennifer) Whitman; cherished grandfather of Crystal (Brad) Lindsey, Jacob (Emily) Meuth, Scott (Becky) Whitman, Nancy (Alex) Messina, and Sara (Dr. Zachery) Treat; treasured great-grandfather of Dakota, Carley, Savannah, Nora, Grant, Caleb, Winry, Warren, Hailey and Jonah; dear brother of Nancy Santheson; brother-in-law of Carol Whitman and Dorothy Zerjav; and is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Robert is also preceded in death by his daughter, Lee C. Kirn and his brother, Harry Whitman.

Robert served his country with pride as a submariner in the United States Navy, leaving a lasting impact with his commitment and service. His dedication extended beyond the military, as he devoted much of his life to the Carpenters Local Union, he was the past president of Carpenters Local 1987 Union, and after he became a member of Carpenters Local 32. Robert found immense joy in the company of his family, cherishing the moments spent together. His leisure time was filled with activities such as camping, woodworking and golf, and he reveled in the camaraderie of games like cards and dominos. Robert's warmth and love touched the lives of those around him, and his absence leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
