Robert William Bishoff, age 90, born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of St Charles, MO, and Sun City Hilton Head, SC, died on December 2, 2014. Loving husband for 58 years to the love of his life Violet "Mitzi" Bishoff; devoted father of Barbara (Jack) DeNigris, Mary (Terry) Conick, and Kim (Jeff) Hayes; cherished grandfather of Philip DeNigris, Amy (Jeff) Volk, Brandon (Jessica) Conick, Josh (Lauren) Hayes, and Melissa (Justin) Hayes. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Helen Bishoff and his brother William Robert Bishoff.
Robert graduated from University of Pittsburgh with dual Major in Math and Chemistry. While working and raising a family, he attended and graduated from Carnegie Mellon (Metallurgical Engineering). Bob was an expert at electroplating and printed circuit board manufacturing.
Proud accomplishments included participation in the NASA space exploration program by electroplating thermal shielding of cameras used in space. Bob has a U.S. registered patent for a chemical process.
Veteran of WWII in the 207th -AAF BU, drafted at age 19. Served in England as a communications specialist. Active member of the Sun City Veterans Association for several years.
Enjoyed golfing, swimming, reading, and travel.
